KnowledgeBase Marketing Offers New Premium Change of Address Service
Premium COA significantly reduces undeliverable mail and offers change-of-address records not reported to the USPS®

Richardson, TX, September 1, 2009: KnowledgeBase Marketing is introducing a new change of address service that helps marketers reduce undeliverable-as-addressed mail. The service, called Premium Change of Address, is offered as a suppression or new address service and is part of the company’s DirectSuccessSM processing suite of address hygiene services.

Through proprietary sources KnowledgeBase has acquired over 43 million records that are undeliverable-as-addressed with approximately 1 million records added weekly. These addresses are confirmed as undeliverable records through the United States Postal Service® ACS service. Premium COA offers an additional 15 million self-reported change-of-address records and adds over 150,000 records weekly. Premium COA does not replace the USPS NCOALink®, CASS™ and DPV® services.

According to the USPS®, undeliverable-as-addressed mail costs $1.64 billion per year to process through its systems and many times that for marketers. Premium COA enables KnowledgeBase Marketing clients to realize significant savings by allowing them to reallocate marketing dollars that would otherwise be wasted due to offers not reaching their intended recipients. Wasted mail also is an environmental issue. It is estimated that over 300 million pounds of paper is wasted on undeliverable marketing mailings.

“We recognized a need to take extra steps to minimize the amount of undeliverable-as-addressed mail being produced,” says Joe Brehm, EVP of data services. “Our testing shows that clients can get a 2% match rate to the Premium COA database at the individual level and 3 – 5% at the household level. At the 3% household match rate, a client mailing 500,000 mail pieces could save about $7,500. That is a significant savings that could be spent more productively.” Brehm adds, “Premium COA not only reduces the cost for marketers in paper, printing and postage, it also helps the environment by eliminating wasted mail.”
